Joe Biden and the Democrats knew this was the case heading into the 2022 Midterms.

In the first two quarters of 2022, the economy contracted.

Two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth is the technical definition of a recession.

But Biden and the Democrats did not want to campaign in the midst of a recession.

To get the media and economists to buy into the administration’s lies about the economy not sinking into a recession, the Biden administration pointed to gangbusters job reports in the first half of the year as evidence the economy was still humming along nicely.

But it was all lies since the administration cooked the books on the monthly jobs reports.

After the election, when it was safe to finally admit the truth, the Philadelphia Federal Reserve published a report showing that the administration was lying when it claimed there were 1.1 million jobs created between March and June of 2022.

In reality, just 10,000 jobs were created.

Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia estimates that the employment data was vastly overstated in 2022.

Biden and the Democrats needed a way to defang Republican attacks about inflation and the poor state of the economy that was clearly in recession.

To that end, the administration fabricated a narrative about a booming jobs market to gaslight the public into thinking the economy ran smoothly and Joe Biden’s socialist spending policies delivered benefits to the public.

Republicans underperformed for a number of reasons.

Democrats benefited from ballot harvesting, early voting, and a massive fundraising advantage.

Donald Trump endorsed some weak candidates like Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania.

But Democrats creating a fake narrative about the economy’s booming jobs market played a role as well.
