Video: Hitler’s little tank killer, the awesome: Hetzer

This is another amazing little vehicle, but it was built by the Czechs. This is just one of vast numbers of excellent designs that came out of WW2 from the Germans.

These little tank killers were awesome. An interesting twist is that this is the earliest example I’ve seen of a machine gun on the top of an armoured vehicle in WW2 that was controlled from the INSIDE!!! No crew member exposes his body. They are all inside, but the machine gun is sitting on the top and yet is controlled from the inside. I don’t know the finer detail, but I’d say it was way ahead of its time.

Also, its interesting how they had to off-set the gun and could not put it properly in the middle. But all in all, it was an excellent design and much was achieved with little. I LOVE EFFICIENCY!!!! That’s a WHITE THING!
