Just a note: I have been sitting and writing a special program for myself to help me remove the malware from my two sites. I want to make sure I do it correctly and quickly. It’s been taking me some time, because I’ve also been testing it.
The malware infections must have been relatively recent … in the last few weeks … because in my backups of my websites, there are no malware infections from even October 2019.
I have put measures in place to try and stop new infections and so far it seems to be working. But I now just want to work on the program that will solve a lot of problems.
I am however now convinced that the allow-space bug has NOT been properly removed.
But I now have a much better idea of what to hunt for in order to sort out the allow-space bug.
After this long exercise I will certainly have a much better idea of how to deal with these nasty infections in the future. Hopefully, they will be less due to the measures I’ve taken.
What a nuisance this has been. Its wasted hours and hours of my time … and no doubt that was the malicious intent… among other things.
