FROM JAN: REVISITING THE APOLLO MOON LANDING HOAX THEORY – My Thoughts

[The topic of the Apollo Moon Landing Hoax has been raised with me by more than one person so I dug into this again. I have looked at it before, but this is my most detailed dive yet. Jan]

I have obtained 3 excellent moon landing hoax videos. One of them, in particular, has blown my mind — it’s three and a half hours long. Although I’m extremely busy, I’ve already watched about three hours’ worth of the content. Many of the arguments presented are very compelling, and the videos also include excellent historical context, which I’ve enjoyed. I plan to finish watching them all in the coming weeks.

It seems that most of the Moon hoax theories originate from one American man who worked at Rocketdyne. He’s considered the father of the Moon hoax movement. I’ve paid close attention to his reasoning and the points he raises. Some of his arguments are quite clever and insightful. However, despite his confidence, many of his conclusions reveal a misunderstanding of physics.

For example, he claims one of the strongest proofs that the Moon landing was faked is the quietness of the astronauts’ voices during the lander’s descent. He argues that a rocket engine is extremely loud, and therefore, hearing the astronauts talking calmly is impossible. What he’s forgetting is that while rocket engines are indeed noisy on Earth, that noise is a result of air density. In space — or on the Moon — you’re in a vacuum, and there’s no air between you and the rocket motor to transmit sound. The only potential noise might come through vibrations within the spacecraft structure itself. So in fact, it is possible for the astronauts to speak audibly and calmly during descent.

He also makes another fascinating argument about the behavior of lunar dust. Yet again, it’s a similar misunderstanding: the Moon is a vacuum, so dust will not behave as it does on Earth. This affects how it moves and settles. The most difficult Moon-related issue to explain, however, is the matter of shadows. The strange behavior of shadows is, in my view, the number one issue — and I was already aware of this. I’ve since done more research, and I’ve discovered a direct explanation that no one seems to mention. I might go through it all in detail and even consider making a video on the subject.

What saddens me is how many other valid pieces of evidence are dismissed outright in some of these videos — even when there’s a solid explanation backed by physical proof. For instance, how did we get 380 kg of Moon rocks? Or what about the reflectors and seismometers that were left on the Moon and are still functioning? I’ve seen people simply fob off these facts, which is frustrating.

There are also many technical arguments that most people don’t know about — likely because they’ve never studied astronomy. Astronomy was actually one of my hobbies as a kid, and I think that background gives me a better grasp of some of these concepts. I do find the videos fascinating and plan to continue watching them between my other tasks. Still, I’m disappointed by the level of reasoning in some of them. I haven’t yet watched the specific video you mentioned — I’m saving it for last. The others I’ve seen, including an excellent Italian one, are very well-made, but it’s disheartening when they just dismiss everything as lies, even when firm evidence is presented.
