Pretoria has snapped back at US legislators who oppose South Africa’s case against Israel, with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation saying tomorrow’s announcement from The Hague will deliver the right riposte.
International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor is heading to the International Court of Justice to hear the decision in person.
The ICJ will announce its response to South Africa’s request for the court to order provisional measures, mainly an immediate ceasefire by Israel in Gaza as well as greater humanitarian access to the embattled territory.
Any provisional measures the court orders will be pending its final determination on whether Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
