Mayoral candidate Jim Strickland has issued numerous ads touting his successes for the last few years.
But what is the REAL truth ??
Take a look at the REST OF THE STORY ——-
1. Strickland says that he’s brought in 20,000 new jobs to Memphis.
But according to the Chamber of Commerce the city has LOST 30,000 jobs during that time.
Net results: MINUS 10,000 jobs during Strickland’s mayorship.
2. Strickland says that he’s hired almost 500 new police officers.
But according to MPD Personnel, during that time 470 officers have resigned.
Net results: a gain of only 28 officers, and most of those were non-enforcement PST’s.
3. Strickland brags about all the new businesses coming to town.
But look at the REAL action:
Electrolux Appliances has closed their manufacturing plant.
Nucor Steel has closed their plant and moved to another state.
Coca Cola Bottling has closed their plant and moved to another state.
Gibson Guitars Manufacturing has closed their plant and moved to another city.
And his worst legacy — destroying Memphis’ history.
