[I have a lot of respect for the south and the confederates. They did their utmost. Its too bad they lost. Its been bad, even for whites outside the USA. We need to get whites winning everywhere. Jan]

Its 5:30 p.m. November 30th and the battle of Franklin has been engaged for 1 1/2 hours. Losses are heavy. The Confederate forces have made repeated attacks against the strongly entrenched Federal lines and the Yankees hold.

Both troops are firing at muzzle flashes and cannon blasts. The Confederate infantry that makes it up to the breastworks are trapped and unable move. Gen. John Bell Hood has no idea of the status of his troops. The fighting will last til 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Gen. Forrest along with Buford’s and Jackson’s Division are pressing the Federal cavalry on the east side of the Harpeth River.
