Attention: Are you having Video viewing problems on

I’d like some feedback from folks to see how many of you are viewing videos without a problem on your devices and how many of you are having problems on some/all of your devices.

Please let me know which devices which which operating systems are working/not working for you.

When I checked some months ago it seemed to be mostly Linux users and perhaps certain phones.

I have been looking into a technical solution for this.

If some of you who are having problems can notify me, then I’m thinking of testing the solution. I would need to set up a test video or two and see which ones you can view and which ones you can’t.

I think I have a full solution for most of you … but its pretty complex and chews a lot of disk space. But I think I can do it. It is important for me that as many people as possible can view the videos.

    No Problems with Safari here.

But another suggestion to remove the mobile pain (endless scrolling, Bad overview):
Please do Not Publish the _full_ Article – instead a 5 line preview (+read more button) and an image.
Like You handle it with the “related” articles.

Mobile User experience would improve big Time from this!

      Hi Raphael,
Thanks a stack for your constructive suggestion. Its much appreciated.
I simply went with the default setup when I set the system up.
I’m still learning many technical things. But high on my list is a change.
I like your idea. I’ll see what I can do.

Its always great hearing from Germans!

Stick around … we’ve hardly begun!!!

      Warm wishes,

Hi. I am running the latest version of the Pale Moon browser (they say it is similar to Firefox) on Puppy Linux version Tahrpup 6.0.5. Many videos do not play on the browser. But if I download them, they play from the video player that comes with Tahrpup. The same is true for your videos at The video images on your website have “No video with supported format and MIME type found” written across them. So, I download them. Thanks for providing a download link for each video. I live in the US.

      Hi Craig,
Thanks for the feedback. So again its linux. I also have one linux PC so I’ll also test what it does when I go to my own website. But its great getting feedback from you. I’m glad the download link at least provides a workable backdoor for people on PC. On phone it won’t work so well I’d think.

What I want to do is an experiment with a new way of handling videos. But its much more complex and requires a lot more disk space. I want to try a few experiments. When I do, I’ll come to this article and send replies to people to go and test and we see what works and what does not work. Then I’ll know for sure. I think I have a proper solution – I think – but we’ll need to test it.

I have a better understanding of what the problem is. But I want to try to solve it fully – if I can.

      Thanks for your feedback!
