Kempton (123){Park – A receptionist at a dental surgery here was shot dead on Tuesday by robbers, said Gauteng police.
Jean Germishuys, 67, and the dentist were standing behind the counter when a man entered the rooms about 12:40, saying he wanted to make an appointment, said police spokesperson Cynthia Kleinhans.
“That’s when another man, who was armed, also entered,” she said.
“They pulled her and the dentist from behind the counter, and when she screamed, she was shot.”
Kleinhans said staff and patients were locked into a room after their cellphones, jewellery and money were taken.
The robbers took the dentist’s Toyota and drove off, said Kleinhans.
